11/28/22 Update:

After nine years of serving as a partner in ministry, Lila Comfort Dog unexpectedly passed away on November 28th, 2022. During her career at Beautiful Savior, she helped her team share the love of Jesus with hundreds of people in elder care facilities, hospitals, schools, and other locations. We will miss her selfless love, loyalty, and devotion.

Beautiful Savior was pleased to have Lila as a partner in ministry. Lila was a Comfort Dog trained by Lutheran Church Charities to provide a calming presence to those she encountered. The LCC Comfort Dogs travel around the nation in times of crisis, and they also regularly work with members of their own communities.

Lila officially joined Beautiful Savior's ministry team during her Passing of the Leash ceremony on November 17th, 2013. In addition to meeting needs within the congregation, she visited schools, nursing homes, hospitals, and events in the community. Each LCC Comfort Dog has an assigned Bible verse, and Lila's was Philippians 4:5: "Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near."
